      carrying out volunteer activities for 20 years, rescuing and caring for cetaceans and sea turtles throughout the regional territory. Since 2008, we have been part of the Regional Wild Fauna Network of the Sardinia Region, under the ownership of the Municipality of Pula.
      We care for stranded sea turtles and cetaceans, admitting them to our Center and returning them to the sea after necessary treatments. We monitor the nesting sites of Caretta caretta from the laying to hatching, protecting this critical moment of their biological cycle. We carry out awareness-raising and educational activities on the issues of human impact on coastal systems and the related problems concerning the conservation of cetaceans and sea turtles in the Mediterranean. <\/p>\n

      The management of Sardinian lagoons has a millennial tradition, but climate change now requires a proactive mindset to provide innovative solutions using all the technologies we have today to ensure the safety of our territories.
      We actively wanted and collaborated on the project that could address the technological gap in lagoon management. The experiment, funded with EU funds and coordinated by the Municipality of Pula, involved two teams of experts working on developing a prototype to be installed at the sea mouths of the Nora lagoon. The innovative systems must be able to respond quickly to extreme flood events and secure the lagoon and the Pula plain. The tested technologies also include remote monitoring of the chemical and physical water parameters, as well as an innovative system for monitoring the fish populations in the lagoon. <\/p>\n

      Together with the MedIsWet project partners, we have carried out actions to control the rat population at the nesting site of the Audouin’s Gull, one of the threats that led to the gradual decline of breeding pairs at the site, which until 2008 was among the top in Italy for breeding success.
      We have carried out actions to eradicate invasive alien species in the ZCS Capo di Pula area. Dozens of Acacia saligna plants were removed from the Nora area, and we completed the eradication of Carpobrotus from the Laguna di Nora.
      100 specimens of native plant species have replaced the eradicated alien species. We have carried out significant actions to control the prickly pear cactus on the island of San Macario. <\/p>\n

      We are active in the field of protecting endangered marine species and founded the Laguna di Nora Cetacean and Sea Turtle Rescue Center in 1993, carrying out volunteer activities for 20 years, rescuing and caring for cetaceans and sea turtles throughout the regional territory.       We actively wanted and collaborated on the project that could address the technological gap in lagoon management. The experiment, funded with EU funds and coordinated by the Municipality of Pula, involved two teams of experts working on developing a prototype to be installed at the sea mouths of the Nora lagoon. <\/p>\n

      The innovative systems must be able to respond quickly to extreme flood events and secure the lagoon and the Pula plain. The tested technologies also include remote monitoring of the chemical and physical water parameters, as well as an innovative system for monitoring the fish populations in the lagoon. <\/p>\n

      We have carried out actions to eradicate invasive alien species in the ZCS Capo di Pula area. Dozens of Acacia saligna plants were removed from the Nora area, and we completed the eradication of Carpobrotus from the Laguna di Nora. <\/p>\n
